It has been a professional highlight working with an idea in my head for a Early College Program at Inderkum High School, and to see it mature and blossom on Wednesday evening as we witnessed the first CECA Graduating Class of 2017.
Now that CECA is in a great spot, I’m taking on a new challenge at Discovery High School. I will continue to partner with American River College (ARC) to assist students with transitioning from high school to college.
I want to thank everyone involved for their part in making the California Early College Academy (CECA) a reality for our students in Natomas. I especially want to thank Dr. Sheryl Gessford, Mr. George Tapanes, Dr. Frank Kobayashi, Mrs. Martina Molina-Kanae, and Mr. Craig Van Nort. I also want to thank NUSD Leadership and the Natomas Unified School Board for their ongoing support.
I wish you all the best. I’m not saying goodbye because Discovery High School is just down the road. Have a great Summer.
